Samuel Billaud is now one of the top prodcuers of Chablis. The Montee de Tonnerre is one of his and the region's finest 1ers Crus; 20% fermented in old oak, concentrated and intense with focused saline, citrus and yellow plum notes leading to long, piercing finish. An exceptional Chablis built for the long haul.

The self-effacing Samuel Billaud is one of Chablis’ finest winemakers – sitting comfortably alongside the most famous and desirable wineries of The region. For over twenty years he has been responsible for some of the best wines produced in Chablis. He established his own winery in 2009 and, in 2014, his estate was greatly extended when he recovered his share of the Domaine Billaud-Simon vines after the family estate was sold to Faiveley. He has now built a new winery in the centre of Chablis where he ferments the wines in a mixture of stainless steel vats and 450 litre demi-muids. He works with a combination of his own vineyards, rented parcels and fruit purchased from trusted growers. The wines are exquisite renditions of Chablis, with a seductive texture and oozing minerality
