Cognac

Cognac

Cognac is a type of brandy that is made from distilled white wine. It is named after the town of Cognac in France, which is where it was first produced. Cognac is a protected designation of origin (PDO) product, which means that it can only be made in specific regions of the world. Cognac is made using a two-step process. First, the grapes are fermented to produce wine. Then, the wine is distilled to produce brandy. The brandy is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two years. Cognac is usually served as an after-dinner drink. It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It can also be used in cocktails.
