The Lakes Distillery combines the practice of élevage – a patient and meticulous approach to building depth and complexity – and years of expertise in sherry wood maturation to craft bold and complex, multi-layered single malt whiskies with a distinctive indulgent finish. The Lakes Distillery has just launched Signature, its first permanent style of sherry-led whisky. The culmination of a meticulous journey of flavour development, Signature brings together discoveries from over a decade of exploration by the distillery’s whiskymakers, who have embraced the art of élevage and sherry cask ageing to create exceptional whiskies in the beautiful surroundings of England’s Lake District.
