V&S Distillers (formerly Danish Distillers) is Scandinavia’s largest producer and supplier of spirits for consumption, and the world’s largest producer and exporter of aquavit. The company was founded in 1881 by C.A. Olesen and C.F. Tietgen; two enterprising businessmen who resolved together to create a company that would produce and sell the finest Danish spirits. Aalborg is their leading brand of Danish akvavit.
Crystal clear and full of character, with a pure caraway bouquet supported by a slight hint of orange. Produced according to a recipe unchanged since 1846, Aalborg Taffel is the most popular akvavit in Denmark.
In 2002 it was voted the best aquavit in the world at the IWSC. Best served chilled alonside salty foods such as herring or gorgonzola.
