In 1929 Julian Barcelo, born in Mallorca (Spain) emigrated to the Dominican Republic and the following year founded Barcelo & Company, following his dream of producing one of the best rums on the island.

The optimum product was obtained by experimenting with different brands on the market and it wasn’t long before Julian began producing his very own rum and in 1950 the Ron Barceló branch was launched. The brand quickly became a reference between local rums and one of the largest and most prestigious Dominican enterprises.
The Gran Platinum rum from Dominican Republic producer Barceló is made with rum aged in bourbon barrels, which is then filtered to remove the colour, but not the flavour.
Tasting Notes: Clear in appearance, rich in aroma with hints of citrus and pink pepper and afterthoughts of vanilla and dried fruits. The result is rich in spice and caramel, and won't change the hue of your cocktails.
