Ouzo has been produced here by Greek families from the beginning of the 19th century and is distilled in the same traditional way today. Isidoros Arvanitis was a persistent and perfectionist Plomarian who envisioned the creation of an ouzo that would stand out from all the others and be acclaimed throughout Greece and around the world. Thus, in 1894, he began searching for the ideal ingredients that would allow him to create the perfect recipe.
After long travels around the globe and numerous distillation experiments, he created the renowned, secret recipe of Ouzo of Plomari. Using unique ingredients, which he combined at the right proportions, Isidoros Arvanitis gave his drink the features he had envisioned; a taste bonded with the tradition and a distillate as clear as the Aegean sea.
Thanks to this precious taste balance, a balance attained only by the finest drinks with Designation of Origin, Ouzo of Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis has earned the trust of the Greek people and has spread its reputation all over the world, bringing the vision of Isidoros Arvanitis to life.
