Located in the heart of Saint-Émilion, Château de Saint Pey benefits from centuries of winemaking tradition. The estate employs meticulous vineyard management, including green harvesting and hand-picking, to ensure the optimal quality of its grapes. Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for approximately 12-18 months, imparting subtle notes of toast and spice while preserving the wine’s freshness and complexity.
This wine reveals a deep ruby colour with inviting aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum, layered with hints of cedar, vanilla, and delicate earthy undertones. On the palate, it is smooth and well-rounded, offering flavours of dark fruit, chocolate, and subtle spice. The tannins are velvety, providing structure without harshness, and the finish is long and balanced, showcasing the finesse typical of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines.
Ideal with classic French cuisine, Château de Saint Pey pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, beef stew, and mushroom-based dishes. It also complements aged cheeses and dishes with rich sauces, enhancing the wine’s complexity and depth.
