Chateau La Fleur Petrus 2006
Located on the prestigious plateau of Pomerol, the Merlot-dominant wine of Château La Fleur-Pétrus offers the power and elegance that typifies this right bank appellation. Taking its name from its location between Château Lafleur and Chȃteau Pétrus, this wine matches the opulence and grace of its neighbours. This was one of the best wines of the 2006 vintage and is at its peak; full yet elegant, awash with ripe plum, fig and fresh tobacco notes.

"One of the candidates for “wine of the vintage,” the 2006 is potentially the finest La Fleur Petrus made since the late forties. Harvested prior to the region’s first big rain in mid-September, from yields of 30-36 hectoliters per hectare, it possesses atypical power, thickness, and richness, as well as a superb perfume of flowers, melted licorice, scorched earth, and abundant black and red fruits. Great intensity, a full-bodied, multilayered opulence, beautiful purity, and tremendous length suggest this stunning 2006 will be at its apogee between 2012-2030+" 94-96/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.
