La Butte de la Roche, with its south-eastern orientation and mild microclimate, stands as one of the most distinctive terroirs in the Muscadet region. The site’s light, sandy soils over serpentinite bedrock produce wines with a rounded texture and vivid aromatic profile. As the earliest-ripening vineyard in the appellation, its fruit is known for exceptional ripeness and balance.
This Cru Goulaine wine, crafted by the Maison Lieubeau family estate, comes from 40-year-old vines farmed organically on these prized slopes. The wine is gently pressed, fermented with natural yeasts, and aged for 24 months on fine lees, adding depth and creaminess. Aromas of ripe citrus, peach, and tropical fruit are balanced by a fresh saline note and a slow-building minerality. The palate is round, precise, and finishes with elegance.
Versatile at the table, this Cru Goulaine pairs beautifully with oysters, langoustines, and grilled white fish, as well as roast chicken, mild cheeses, or subtly spiced Asian dishes. It also makes a refined aperitif, especially when served well-chilled.
