A world class producer, Marques de Murrieta is the oldest estate in Rioja Alta. The Reserva 2019 is aged for 24 months in American oak and is a perfect balance between fruit purity and classic Rioja savouriness. Dark cherry, hints of dried violets and thyme, fine tannins and persistent finish.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.

Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.

Description

Marqués de Murrieta is named after Luciano de Murrieta, one of the founding fathers of modern Rioja winemaking, who established the estate in 1852. Today V. Dalmau Cebrián-Sagarriga, Count of Creixell, leads the family-owned company.

The winery is settled near the southern tip of Rioja Alta in the middle of the beautiful Ygay Estate, a unique 740-acre vineyard that guarantees complete control over the grape source of the wines and is the key to the quality and style of Marqués de Murrieta wines.

The 2019 Marqués de Murrieta is 93% Tempranillo, 5% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha Tinta, sourced from the Ygay estate. Aged for 24 months in American oak barrels, this garnet wine offers notes of sour cherry, balsamic and dried flowers, along with a vanilla-cedar layer. On the palate, it is dry, mild and elegant, with fine grained tannins and a persistent finish.
