Mario Schiopetto was regarded as the father of modern Italian white wine, and "M" is from the original Friulano and Riesling vines he planted in 1954. Made in tiny quantities, it is perhaps Italy's finest white.
Mario Schiopetto founded his eponymous estate in the 1960s and pioneered many modern winemaking techniques in the region. That continues today as the estate makes some of the finest white wines being produced in Italy.
"M" Mario Schiopetto is their icon wine, made in tiny volumes and only in the best vintages. Perhaps Italy’s finest white wine, this is 95% Friulano and 5% co-planted Riesling from Mario's first plantings; a single south-facing sector of vineyard planted in 1954.
