Vins El Cep are a leading organic winery in the Spanish region of Penedes. This is a single vineyard, biodynamic Xarel-lo bottle fermented in the ancestral style. A lovely vibrant pet nat , with lipsmacking lemon, white peach and orange oil notes with hints of fresh pastry. Effervescent, clean mousse – irresistible, but only very limited production.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.
Orders placed before 1pm each day Monday – Friday will be despatched the same day as long as the stock is in immediate availability. For some items, we may need to get stock from our stores which could delay despatch by 1 day (2 days in some situations)
Items in stock will be despatched on the same day and delivered via courier. This will usually be delivered on the following working day but please allow one extra day if this is not possible. Deliveries to Scotland & non UK mainland will usually be delivered in 2-3 working days.
We charge a flat fee of £6.90 for delivery if your order is under 20kg and £10 inc-VAT if the order is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £100 (inc VAT).
We aim to ship items within the same working day but always within 2 working days, subject to the order being placed before 1pm and subject to the availability of stock. *If stock is not available at our warehouse and needs to come back from one of our stores before we ship to you, your order may take up to 5 working days to be shipped – whether that is to your delivery address or to one of our stores.
We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition. You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name. If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us. Please email us at [email protected] with your order confirmation number, full name and the reason you for the return. Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.
In the 1980s four Catalan families - Carreras, Esteve, Masana and Parera - decided to resurrect Can Llopart de les Alzines, a historic estate dating back to 1499, in the heart of Cava country, Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. They joined their 4 estates to create one sharing the same philosophy: Vins El Cep, making Cavas that represent their terroirs and farming using sustainable, organic and biodynamic practices. This is one of only 25 estates out of 290 which produces Cava exclusively from their own vineyards and they are a pioneer of organic viticulture in the region. Their sparkling wines sit in the top rank of Cava, and they also produce increasingly exciting still wines.
The Xarel.lo grapes come from the biodynamically farmed 1.5 hectare Josepeta vineyard, planted in 1987 in the Espiells zone, the best district for Xarel.lo. The vines are trained en Goblet, and the south-east facing vineyard has ideal sandy limestone soil.
The grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes to protect the integrity of the grapes, and enter the cellar via gravity. Very gentle pressing at low pressure with a short maceration, and an extraction of free-run juice of 45-50%, which represents the most elegant and subtle fraction of the must. Fermentation is started in small tanks at a controlled temperature then finished in the bottle, followed by 12 months lees ageing.
