Description

Markou Vineyards dates back 1928 with vines planted in both Attica and Nemea. They make a range of wines from from the Savatiano variety - a low yielding grape grown on the hot plain of Attica, cooled by the sea breezes from the neighbouring Aegean sea.

The grapes come from low altitude vineyards, only at 100-150m above sea level from the PGI appellation Attica - a virtually flat valley with clay and limestone soil. The vines were planted in the 1950s after a phylloxera plague destroyed all of the Attican vineyards. The vines are now more than 50 years old.

Grapes are destemmed, crushed and only the first juice is collected. A 24-hour skin contact occurred in stainless steel vat before the fermentation started. Light stirring of the fine lees took place to add complexity and texture to the wine. Fermentation lasted for 4 weeks at a controlled temperature before the
wine is stabilized cold and filtered. Inert gas is added immediately before bottling to prevent any contact with oxygen.

Tasting Notes: Baked peach and roasted apple with a hint of almond and a crisp, grapefruit finish. A delicious, textured dry white that is truly natural.

Delivery

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £125 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.
