Schiopetto Ribolla Gialla Fireman's Line

Mario Schiopetto founded his eponymous estate in the 1960s and pioneered many modern winemaking techniques in the region. That continues today as the estate makes some of the finest white wines being produced in Italy today. The slightly higher production and lower priced “Fireman’s” or more elegantly “del Pompiere” range references the fireman’s hostelry in which Mario grew up as a child. This is the Ribolla Gialla from that range, giving a good example of this local Friulian variety. A lifted nose of melon, guava, white flowers, hints of apricot with a touch of smokiness. Medium-bodied with lingering citrus freshness.
