Vermouth in Gonzalez Byass dates back to 1896 and was relaunched in 2016. Based on a 19th-century recipe, the base wine is a blend of PX and Oloroso Sherry from Jerez. The La Copa Rojo has spiced aromas with an elegant bitterness on the finish. Smooth and complex on the palate.
In 1835, Manuel María González Angel arrived in Jerez, intent on making a name for himself as a businessman. In that same year he purchased a small winery and began to produce and export his own wines. The success of legendary Tio Pepe which began production here was highly successful and today, Bodegas Tío Pepe is known around the world as one of the leading producers of sherry and Brandy de Jerez. Vermouth in Gonzalez Byass dates back to 1896. The La Copa range is based on these recipes found in the company archives dating back to 1896.
