In the 1990s Marchese Piero Antinori discovered Haras de Pirque Estate, a property owned by the Matte family, and in 2001 he started a joint venture with them to create Albis, the winery’s flagship wine, and helped to enhanced the quality of the estate-grown fruit through sustainable and organic vineyard practices. In 2017 the Antinori family acquired the whole property determined to fully invest in this exciting new journey.
Galantas represents the fullest expression of Cabernet Franc from the Maipo valley – a wine capable of expressing the characteristic vibrance, elegance, and finesse of this unique terroir. The grapes are sourced from Haras de Pirque’s organic vineyards, situated in the Maipo at over 2300 feet (700 meters) above sea level. Here Cabernet Franc succeeds in expressing its great potential, much assisted by the cool nights of the valley’s foothills. 85% Cabernet Franc, 15% Carmenère, the wine is fermented with natural yeasts and aged for 14 months in French oak. Purplish-red color. Intense in aromas of black fruits such as blueberries and blackberries. In the mouth it is soft, with pleasant tannins and a mouth of wide and persistent volume. A wine that will be considered a new classic of Maipo Andes
