PAOLO MANZONE BAROLO SERRALUNGA
Paolo Manzone is one of the leading producers of Barolo. Prior to purchasing and renovating his property in Serralunga, Paolo Manzone spent many years as a highly respected wine consultant. The focus now is on the underrated cru Meriame where the family of Paolo's wife Luisella have had vineyards for generations but had previously sold the fruit until Paolo decided to release wines under the family name. Today, this collaboration has raised the profile of the Meriame cru, and Paolo's wines have won widespread recognition. His wines are traditional in style; structured and complex. The grapes come from a 25 year old sector of the Meriame vineyard in the village of Serralunga d'Alba.The wine is aged for 28 months, 70% in large traditional Slavonian oak barrels of 1500 litres and 30% in smaller 350-litre French oak barrels. Perfumed notes of roses, maraschino cherry, damson and a touch of blackberry with gamey notes emerging with air. Ripe, fine tannins and poised balanced acidity. Classically constructed yet approachable.

FESS PARKER ASHLEY'S CHARDONNAY
Founded in 1989 by the Hollywood star of the same name, the Fess Parker winery is located in Santa Barbara County. This was one of the first producers of the region to release wines at a consistently high level of quality and did much to raise the profile of the region as a whole. They remain at the forefront of their local industry with winemaker Blair Fox making a wide range of superb wines. Just 90 minutes north of LA, Santa Barbara County is one of California’s most diverse viticultural regions and benefits from warm summer days tempered by the cooling Pacific breezes.  The AVA of Santa. Rita Hills in particular, is arguably the most exciting wine region in the world for making cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir right now. This barrel-aged Chardonnay from Fess Parkers’ own Ashley’s Vineyard has a concentrated nose with aromas of lemon, mineral, vanilla, toast and golden delicious apples. Rich and luscious showing flavours of citrus, pear, apple fruits and a slight oak toast this chardonnay is bound together by mouth-watering acidity and mineral finish.
