Founded in 2007 by former scientist Apostolos Matamis, who is today supported by his sons Stelios and Giannis, the aim of the estate is to produce Greek wines that reflect the unique qualities of indigenous grape varieties and local climate and soil.
In the early 1980s Apostolos worked for leading Burgundy producer Louis Latour, then returned to Greece to as a consulting oenologist for many of the leading Greek wineries of the time, giving him an unrivalled insight into the varied terroirs and grape varieties of Greece.
In 2007, he selected vineyards for his own project which is in effect a distillation of all the knowledge accumulated through a varied career.
