Pertois Lebrun Champagne Le Fond du Bateau is a grower champagne from a single parcel in Chouilly planted in 1955, vinified in 1000 litre old oak and bottled with very low dosage2014 vintage with 2.5 grammes a litre dosage. Fresh and vibrant with great length and notes of citrus rind, minerals and white flowers.

The house dates back to the early 20th Century but has been given a new lease of life with the introduction of Clemente and Antoine in the last decade or so. They work with 44 plots in Cramant, Mesnil, Chouilly, Oiry and Oger, but have key plots in the fabulous single vineyards of Chetillons and Mont Aigu among others. They produce wines that are beautifully honest to the terroir

Pure Chardonnay created from a single parcel in Chouilly planted in 1955, vinified in 1000 litre old oak. 2014 vintage with 2.5 grammes a litre dosage. On the nose there is delicate ripe citrus, green apple and lychee with light vanilla and some toasted elements. The palate shows a fresh vibrancy opening up to an expressive, full-bodied and consistent mouth feel.
A nose of apricot skin, citrus peel, nougat, brioche, fine , mineral and fresh, a long core of chalky acidity; great finesse and gets better and better with air
