Robert Ampeau Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 1999

Michel Ampeau is a rarity in Burgundy, only releasing wines from his incredible stock of back vintages when fully mature. One of the best Volnay 1er Crus, which actually lies within the boundaries of Meursault. A lifted, perfumed nose with raspberry and damson hints, notes of roasted meats and dark spices emerging with air , and a gorgeous silky palate with fine, detailed tannins. Delicious.
