Rossignol-Trapet has made a string of outstanding wines from Gevrey Chambertin over the last 15 years, with a noticeable uplift in quality since their move to biodynamics. Their 2009 Grand Cru Chapelle Chambertin is a great red Burgundy from a great vintage; a gloriously complex, deep expression of Pinot Noir

Grand Cru Burgundy from one of the great recent vintages, from a top biodynamic producer in Gevrey, the wonderful Rossignol-Trapet.  2009 was a ripe, opulent vintage in Burgundy, and the reds are drinking fantastically well right now…

“This is also quite pretty with a perfumed, cool and airy nose of high-toned and spicy red pinot fruit that evidences plenty of floral influence as well as earth and mineral undertones. This is especially fresh for the vintage with excellent verve on the intense, detailed and restrained full-bodied flavors that culminate in a powerful, focused, quite firm and moderately austere finish that delivers impressive persistence. There is good muscle here and while the mouth feel is not exactly robust, there is plenty of size and weight” 93/100 Burghound
