This is a project from winemaker Sonia Martins, who hunted for old traditional vineyards of high potential in the mountainous Serra de Sao sector of the Alentejo, where the soils are poorest and most mineral and the diurnal temperature shift is at its greatest.

Sourced from the Tapada single vineyard, which consists of very old vines planted at 700 metres above sea level on granite, schist and clay without any irrigation. A quick maceration followed by long, warm fermentation and 10 months ageing in French oak barrels. Grape varieties; Aragonês, Moreto, Trincadeira and other old vines from Tapada do Coronel.
A really complex, powerful red with baked plums, blackcurrent, licorice and roasted meat notes. Long and concentrated; this is really impressive. pair with Iberico Pork, braised beef, mature cheese.
